How many solar panels do you need to heat and provide light for a small pavilion?
Hello. I have long been interested in solar panels. I live in the Irkutsk region, the city of Bratsk. Electricity is expensive here.
I have a pavilion 6 × 7 meters and I would like to conduct heating and connect the light from solar panels. The light in the pavilion is LED, only two lamps and all. The question is how many batteries do I need and how much can it cost me with all the equipment? And most importantly, at -50 degrees Celsius will this system withstand?

Hello. It is impossible to accurately answer the question about the number of solar panels to provide heat and set to your pavilion, when only its area is known. To do this, you need to know the power of the heating boiler.
It is known that for heating 1 mᶾ it is necessary 30 - 35 kW. You did not indicate the height of the pavilion, but let's say it is 3 m. Then the volume is: 6 x 7 x 3 = 126 mᶾ.
Given the small margin, a boiler with a capacity of about 5 kW is required. If we take into account two more 10 W lamps operating on average about 4 hours a day, we can calculate the consumption of the pavilion: 5 000 W + 2 x 10 x 4 = 5080 W = 5.08 kW.
To this we must add the losses from the inverter and the battery, and this is an average of 45%: 5.08 + 2.29 = 7.37 kW, rounded up to 8 kW.
Now you can determine the quantity. In the example, the Tier1 standard is taken. To generate 6 kW, you will need: 8000: 275 W / pc. ≈ 30 pcs. when rounding up.
Such a power plant can be placed on an area of 1.63 m² / pc. x 30 ≈ 50 m².
As for the temperature -50⁰: only sunlight affects the energy production, and this does not depend on the air temperature. Choosing solar panels as a source of power supply, it should be noted that in the winter the sun may not be very long, then you will have to eat from a network or generator.
The price of solar panels is quite different. On average - 70 p. / W. Batteries are also not cheap - about 20,000 p. Inverters and other equipment are different in price. In general, an autonomous system with the generation of the amount of electricity you need will have to pay about 400 tr.
