Combination of ventilation of a geyser and a kitchen hood
The kitchen in the apartment has a geyser. Ventilation - a direct allotment channel (5th floor) separately to the apartment. Is it possible to add to the hood in this channel in the lower hole? If so, which one? Each apartment has a separate ventilation duct.

Hello, Oksana. According to the norms of SNiP 42-01-2002, as well as the rules of fire safety, connecting to a single channel of a gas column and hood is prohibited.
According to the regulations:
- The gas water heater must have an individual chimney;
- There should be a window with a window in the kitchen.
In this case, you have two options:
1. Mount a sorption hood that does not use a fan; special cleaning filters are used.
2. Mount a conventional hood, but make a separate ventilation duct for it.
I think that the second option will be more practical, since it’s a vent. the channel from the hood to the street is not so difficult. Do not forget to mount the non-return valve so that cold air does not enter the apartment when the hood does not work.
