Do I need to put the supply and exhaust ventilation with recovery for the house on 175 squares?
Hello. We are building a private house 175 m2 for permanent residence of a family of 3 people. The house is insulated with mineral wool 100 mm + wet plaster. Energy-efficient windows with micro-ventilation.
Question: do we need forced-air and exhaust ventilation with recovery? Or is it a waste? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Good afternoon, Oleg.
If a number of factors are observed:
1. Walls of proper thickness and of good heat-insulating material.
2. The kitchen has two ventilation ducts. One for kitchen forced draft, the second for natural ventilation.
3. Energy efficient windows. The profile must be at least five chamber with an installation depth of 70 mm., With a double-glazed window in three glasses with energy and multi-function glass.
Then, for a family of three people, forced-air and exhaust ventilation with recovery is not particularly needed. It will be enough to put the windows on micro-ventilation as necessary, and if you have a step-by-step opening, then there are no problems at all.
To be sure, you can purchase a hygrometer and control the humidity level. If the indicator is more than 55%, you can always turn to specialists who will make a careful installation in an already residential building.
From the data provided, I do not see a rational sense in spending money on a supply and exhaust ventilation device.
