After contacting the Criminal Code and examining the fan pipe using a video camera, they provided a conclusion according to which the fan pipe is in good condition. According to the specialists of the Criminal Code: “the air from the fan pipe must be blown into the apartment”. However, as you understand, as a result of blowing air into the apartment from the fan pipe in the apartment there is an unpleasant smell.
On the recommendation of the Criminal Code, a check valve was installed on the pipe routing coming from the fan pipe, and a large volume hydraulic lock was replaced in the bath. However, the additional work carried out did not lead to the desired result. The apartment still has a smell. The Criminal Code declined responsibility, giving a conclusion on the serviceability of the fan pipe. According to the plumbers, the sewage system in the bathroom of the apartment is mounted correctly - the tightness of the pipes is not broken.
In view of the foregoing, I ask for help from people who have encountered this. Is it really true that the air from a fan pipe should be blown into the apartment on the upper floors of a multi-storey building? What could be the reason for the lack of exhaust from the apartment and blowing air from the fan pipe into the apartment?
