In general, regulatory documentation regarding any type of cesspools is rather vague. Norms seem to exist, but how they are controlled and how often they are respected is, in principle, difficult to say. We have here in the region, no one really counts anything and the only moments when the hustle and bustle begins are harmful neighbors, to which they are “far enough” even by standards, but you need to annoy.

However, here are the documents commonly used:

1. SanPiN 42-128-4690-88 Sanitary rules for the maintenance of territories of populated areas. Liquid waste collection. So, clause 2.3.1. It says that in non-canalized possessions yard cesspools can be installed. The truth here is talking about a waterproof, not a filtering cage. And in paragraph 2.3.2, you can find that the distance from residential buildings, child care facilities, schools, playgrounds and places of recreation for the population is from 20 to 100 m. On the territory of your own yard - from 8-10 meters to home ownership. And not less than 50 m from springs, wells with drinking water.

2. SNiP 30-02-97 * Planning and development of territories of gardening country associations of citizens, buildings and structures (as Amended by No. 1). Paragraph 8.7 states that it is necessary to coordinate cesspool devices at the development stage with SES, local authorities for the protection of nature and groundwater. And here, in paragraph 8.8, it is said about a filtered trench with a distance of 4 m from the border of the neighboring section.

There are also standards in the gas supply and water supply documents.

When we clarified this issue with local authorities, we were given the following recommendations on distances:

1. From the cesspool to the apartment building (ours) - 8-10 m.
2. Household buildings of any type - 5-7 m.
3. At least 1 meter to the border of the site (fence).
4. To the next house - from 10 meters.
5. Wells with drinking water - 20-30 m.
6. Pipe engineering water supply networks - 20-25 m.
7. Gas pipes - 5 m.
8. Trees - from 5 to 7 meters.
