Hello! I have a question. On the site there are 6 drinking water tanks, on the same site there is a container where there is a pump that will pump water at the pier to the ships.

How should the pump control station be arranged? Will it be necessary to install a contactor in the switchboard that supplies the control station? Or is it simple enough to feed the machine?

I enclose a photo of the pump. Thanks everyone for the answers!

    Good afternoon! The pump control station when using 6 pump units is required. This is not only convenient, but also increases the performance of all devices, extends their operational life.

    In your case, it is recommended to use a control station of the same manufacturer as the pumps (the photo shows that this is Wilo). Vilo control cabinets are designed to operate with 1-6 pumps, i.e. in your case, one cabinet is enough. But you can use any other stations, including Russian-made, which are suitable for technical parameters.

    The basic equipment of the control station should include:

    - switch for manual control;
    - fuse assembly;
    - phase control unit;
    - a frequency converter;
    - unit responsible for emergency shutdown;
    - thermal relay + sensors necessary in functionality.

    You can read more about the pumping equipment control stations, as well as the selection criteria on our website.

    When choosing between a contactor and a feed circuit breaker, the first option should be preferred. The contactor is designed for private on / off, incl. remote. In addition, the contactor is more preferable for high-power equipment, and is also able to dampen interference that adversely affects the operation of the pumps. Therefore, if you decide to install a control station, do not skimp on a good electromagnetic contactor.
