How many consumers can be connected to the gas pipeline at the same time?
Hello! On one side of the village street there is an underground trunk line of a low pressure gas pipeline. Residential buildings on this side of the street are connected to it by overhead gas pipelines.
A neighbor on the other side of the street wants to connect to this trunk line. The road is unpaved. There is a road transport and agricultural, including heavy, heavy-duty.
Question: is this possible? How should this be done physically (above ground, underground, what diameter of the pipe should be, how safe is it?). If in this way other households (from the opposite side of the street) start connecting to our gas pipeline, can the pressure in our main line decrease and thus there will be a lack of gas in the houses? On February 9 of last year, legislative amendments came into force that regulate the rules for connecting to the main gas pipeline in accordance with Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 82 dated January 30, 2018. They clearly stated that the owner has the right to carry out work in his own house, while outside the house - only a gas distribution company. However, the requirements for obtaining and fulfilling the relevant TU (technical conditions) by the owner of the home ownership were not canceled, nor did they cancel the requirement for the mandatory insertion into the gas pipeline and connection of the home ownership only to employees of the gas distribution organization.
The possibility of connecting to the gas pipeline main line is evaluated by employees of the gas supply organization. And if the planned connection is able to critically reduce the technical characteristics of the gas supplied (pressure or volume), then permission for the connection will not be issued by them.
The existing judicial practice in cases of unauthorized connection to the main gas pipeline (there are many such cases in our country) indicates that the perpetrators can be punished with a fine or with a suspended sentence.
