How is a septic tank different from SBO?
Good afternoon! I plan to install a septic tank. I read a lot on this topic about the choice, the device. Until the end, there is no understanding of how a septic tank differs from SBO. Tell me please?

The main difference between a septic tank and a biological treatment plant is the use of different principles of sewage treatment. The work of the septic tank is based on natural gravity and the use of anaerobic (oxygen-free) bacteria, allowing you to send up to 60% of the total amount of solid particles in the sewage sediment. For pumping sludge from a septic tank, a sewage machine is used.
SBO work is based on the principle of biological decomposition of effluents (hence its name) using aerobic bacteria. Through two air-elevators located at the bottom of the SBO, air is pumped through the compressor, supplying oxygen bacteria. The level of purification of effluents passing through the SBO is approximately 98%, and the particles that precipitate can be subsequently used as organic fertilizers.
The device of a septic tank is much simpler than the SBO design - this is a tank in which one or more chambers for sediment sedimentation, while the SBO design includes a compressor, a control unit and other elements.
