Hello! Is it possible to connect two simultaneously operating gas heating devices to one chimney?

The geyser, with a closed chamber, is on the ground floor, and the gas boiler is in the basement. The distance between the entries to the chimney is at least 1.5 m.

When constructing such a chimney made of brick with a canal sleeve, will it be necessary to cut the chimney? If this procedure is necessary, then how to do it right? Thanks in advance.

The first question is no, you can not connect the boiler and gas column at different levels in one smoke. With this connection, the gases partially or completely from the boiler will enter the room with the column installed. Schematically in the figure. On the second question - the channel sleeve will only strengthen this process. According to the third - dissection is performed when connecting at the same level, you have a different one.
One channel - one connection. In addition to security breaches, the geyser will not work during the heating season. The boiler will “choke” it, the column will last up to three minutes and turn off. Automated carbon monoxide intake will work. Please note - the draft will not only be absent, it will be back to the room with a water heater.
If some kind of chimney, offers such an option, categorically do not agree. You doom yourself to a number of problems and dangers in the future.
