How to clean the storage boiler Electrolux EWH 100 Magnum?
Good afternoon! In a private house, a storage boiler “Electrolux”, model “EWH 100 Magnum” is installed. Operated for the 6th year, never cleaned.
For cleaning, I drained the water according to the instructions, that is, I opened the hot water tap, closed the cold one, then opened the safety valve. In total, very little water ran out: 2 liter from the tap and a liter from the valve. Why? After all, the boiler is 100-liter.
Unscrew ten did not. Please tell me what to do. Thank.

Hello! The design of most water heaters, including Electrolux, is such that when the device is correctly connected to the water supply system, only part of the liquid that is in the pipe with hot water can be drained. This is to protect the boiler from unnecessary drainage.
The fact is that modern water heaters are designed for the constant presence of water inside the tank. Even with a long idle time, the water must be in the tank! This is necessary to protect the heating element from dust and prevent corrosion (rust appears faster when alternating water-air modes than when it is constantly in the water).
The cleaning procedure does not include a complete drain. Emptying may only be necessary when performing repair work, for example when replacing a heater. The manufacturer “Electrolux” categorically forbids performing cleaning of the heating elements.
