Norm base requirements for installing or replacing a gas boiler in an apartment building
Good afternoon. 15 years ago we bought an apartment with an installed turbocharged gas boiler (closed type). But before the repair, the boiler was replaced with an aspirated one. The gas service and all related and controlling organizations gave the go-ahead by setting requirements for the mandatory installation of a supply valve.
Everything has been done. After 15 years, there was a desire to put a turbocharged boiler. Before replacing the boiler, we were presented with the requirement to use the chimney, although when we commissioned the house 15 years ago, no such requirements were made. Many residents of the house exchanged old turbocharged boilers for the new ones, and there were no requirements for them, although the chimney for each apartment is separate and lined with red brick.

Hello. Since you did not give us detailed information on the condition and material of your chimney, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the document “Residential buildings. Rules for the design of gas consumption systems ”(SP 402.1325800.2018). This is a completely new mandatory joint venture, released on June 6, 2019. You need “Appendix D”, all requirements for chimney systems and references to various other documents, also standardizing chimneys, are detailed there.
But in general - the requirements for installing the boiler are quite strict and must be observed. First, you must agree on the project itself. Further, regarding the chimney liner, it is possible that this is due to the technical characteristics of the boiler itself, as well as its location.
Secondly, the cross section of the chimney must correspond to the power of the boiler (agreed upon at the design stage). For example, with a boiler power of 30 kW, the diameter of the chimney should be 130 mm.
I also remind you that in the room where the atmospheric boiler will be installed, there must be a gas analyzer and an electric valve, which will shut off the gas supply in the event of a leak.
